Jefferson County: A look at the largest county in Metropolitan Denver and the State
Jefferson county, the gateway to the Rocky Mountains, is only minutes from downtown Denver. With almost 500,000 residents, it is a place that values it’s business community and it’s quality of life. This is a climate where the sun shines almost 300 days out of every 365. Picnics in a saddlebag, a hike up trails, or a bike ride in one of the county’s open space parks. It also means enjoying a meal in a world-class restaurant, or watching the game at a friendly pub while cheering for one of Colorado’s professional, major league baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer teams.
The county’s location along the foothills of the Rockies make it convenient for skiing some of the world’s greatest ski slopes located close by. But while ski season is booming or flowers are blooming business is doing both! The county enjoys excellent access to the new world-class Denver International Airport. Access to major highways make it easy for trucks to facilitate import and export. Jefferson County is home to scores of innovative and high-tech companies.
There are art galleries, museums, historic architecture, a symphony orchestra and also a nature center and buffalo herd. The internationally renowned Colorado School of Mines in Golden draws students from around the world. The county has it’s own airport with corporate hangars available, as well as it’s own US. customs facility. It is close to the University of Colorado in Boulder, and is home to Red Rocks Community College.
