Jefferson County: A look at the largest county in Metropolitan Denver and the State
Jefferson county, the gateway to the Rocky Mountains, is only minutes from downtown Denver. With almost 500,000 residents, it is a place that values its business community and its quality of life. This is a climate where the sun shines almost 300 days out of every 365. Picnics in a saddlebag, a hike up trails, or a bike ride in one of the countys open space parks. The internationally renowned Colorado School of Mines in Golden draws students from around the world. The county has its own airport with corporate hangars available, as well as its own US. customs facility. It is close to the University of Colorado in Boulder, and is home to Red Rocks Community College.
